Superbowl XLIII
Everyone was wearing football jerseys to office today
Some even went down to the mall to do last-minute jersey shopping
Some wore hoodies
We were all ready for the Superbowl Tailgate Party at Downtown Marriot.
Imagine how big the lunch function is when it was orignally set 11:30am-1pm..
Then deciding that more time is needed, it got extended to 11:15am-1:15pm
This Sunday is the Superbowl XLIII 2009
It's the finale match
for American football of the 2008 season
The two teams that will be going to the Superbowl this year are the Arizona Cardinals and the Steelers.
Many of us are going for the Cardinals because
One: Kurt Warner, an Iowan, used to go to the same church as I do - Des Moines First Assembly. Also, this is Warner's second superbowl appearance. You've got to really good to do that!
Two: The Cardinals, had never won any Superbowls while the Steelers, had at around 7 victories!
Since football means A LOT to Americans, Superbowl is a time when all eyes are glued to the television.
That pushed up the value of the commercial ad space during Superbowls.
Although this is the first time ever that the ads space were not fully sold out at least a week before the game, the bad times of the economy failed to stop a new record price being charged to 30 second of airtime.
30 million dollars for a 30-second commercial!
that's $30,000,000
Imagine counting from 1 to 30 now and that amount of money is gone...
P/S: I should have just worn a hoody to work!
